Service Project

Emily Coltrin, our CVLA Member at Large for Public Libraries and our Service Project coordinator, has put together a great service project for this year that will coordinate with our May business meeting.

Throughout the month of May, we will be collecting donated items for hygiene kits and then we will be assembling those items at a Hygiene Kit Packing Party on May 24th at 6:30 pm. This project will support

The Little Lambs Foundation, a local non-profit in the Valley, that provides comfort kits to children who are transitioning into foster care, emergency shelter, or who have been hospitalized.

Here are the details:

How can you participate?
  • Put a box our at your library for community members and/or library staff to donate new hygiene kit items 'til May 24th.
  • Designate a member of your library team to deliver the donated items to a CVLA Exec Member or bring them to our May 24th event.
  • Attend the May 24th event and help assemble hygiene kits
What can you collect? (all new and unused items)
  • body wash; shampoo; conditioner; toothpaste; toothbrushes; soap; lotion; bubble bath; washcloths; hair brushes & combs; dental floss; deodorant; gallon ziplock bags
If you have any questions, contact Emily Coltrin at ecoltrin@hyrumcity.com.

Let's start collecting and we hope to see you on May 24th!
